Frequently Asked Questions

How much does film removal cost?

Complete vehicle film removal is $150 for cars and trucks, $200 for SUVs and vans. Individual door windows are $25 each. Rear window or windshield is $100 each.

Will removing old film damage my rear defrost lines?

We do our best to preserve the defrost grid and use professional steaming and adhesive-removal techniques, but defrost-line function is not guaranteed. Damage risk depends on how the original film was installed and how aggressively the adhesive has bonded over time. We'll have you sign a waiver acknowledging this before we start on the rear glass.

How long does film removal take?

Removal time varies a lot — anywhere from about an hour to a full day depending on the film's age, construction, and how it was installed. Plan on dropping the car off in the morning regardless of your appointment time, and we'll call you when it's ready. Most vehicles finish in a few hours.

Why is my old film purple or bubbling?

Construction quality is the main factor. Cheaply made films — including some hybrid ceramic/dyed products — break down over time: the dye layer fades to purple and the adhesive degrades into bubbles. Higher-quality films built with stable pigments and better adhesives hold their color and stay clear much longer. By the way — all the films we sell carry a color-stable lifetime warranty.

Can you remove factory tint?

Factory "tint" is actually dyed glass, not film — it cannot be removed. However, we can apply window film over factory privacy glass to add heat rejection and UV protection.
